The annual meeting of the ChemChina Petrochemical Corp took place in Beijing Jan 8-9, with Gao Zhiwei, its general manager, giving a review of 2011 in his speech, "Promoting Lean Management and Accelerating the Transformation of the Management and Control Model". Gao also described a work plan for the coming year.
The corporation will emphasize its managerial system this year and improving safety and environmental protection. It will also rely on leaner management to increase its profits.
Another area of emphasis is increased cooperation among its companies and a more centralized procurement and marketing system. There will be improvements in financial management and controls based on more meticulous accounting procedures.
In addition, it will set up human resources management system by bringing in professional managers from all over.
During the two-day event, the corporation also began a procurement reform project and held lectures and training sessions.
