Production Department No 4 at Changyi Petrochemical completed its annual one-month overhaul, on Sept 1, and was ready to return to production. The overhaul followed the “serious, attentive, meticulous, and strict” guidelines, with conventional items all checked and hidden dangers spotted. The department cleaned or changed some pipes in the heat exchanger and the cooler, replaced problematic valves and trays in the tripper and methanol tower, examined all relief and control valves, replaced part of the catalyst, and dredged the cycle basin. To assure success and completeness in the maintenance work, staff members cooperated closely together while maintaining a clear division of responsibilities at the same time. A lot of work was done and the maintenance was busy without being messy.
And, thanks to strict adherence to the “value safety, improve quality, promote the process, and stick to the schedule” maintenance principle, there were no accidents at all during the overhaul.
