Safety as Top Priority for ChemChina Sites in Sichuan

A 7-magnitude earthquake with an epicenter 13 km deep jolted Lushan county of Ya'an city in Sichuan Province at 8:02 a.m. April 20th. When the news came, ChemChina,very anxious to know the situation of the people in Ya'an city and its employees and their families in the affected area, immediately contacted its 12 sites in the province.

As of press time, the disaster has caused no injury & casualty or property or facility damage to ChemChina sites in the affected province, namely China BlueStar Chengrand Research Institute of Chemical Industry, Zhonghao Chenguang Research Institute of Chemical Industry, China Rubber Group Carbon Black Research & Design Institute, Chonche Group Sichuan Danchi Parts & Components Co., Ltd, Deyang Haohua Qingping Linkuang Co., Ltd, Sichuan BlueStar Machinery Co., Ltd, Sichuan Tianyi Science & Technology Co., Ltd, BlueStar Xichang Co., Ltd, Haohua Honghe Chemical Co., Ltd, Southwest Research and Design Institute of Chemical Industry, Plant 7436, Plant 6914. All these sites have convened emergency meetings to mobilize rescue efforts.

An emergency meeting was also called at the ChemChina HQs on the morning of 20th to show concern and support for the disaster hit area. ChemChina sites in that province were reminded to stay alert of aftershocks and any secondary disasters instead of rushing to resume production, take the safety of life and properties as the first priority and pay special attention to the facilities being started-up right now for any hidden peril of accident.

In accordance with relevant notice from the State Council, ChemChina also urged its employees to follow the overall organization of SASAC and ChemChina for the rescue efforts.
