The ChemChina Petrochemical (Tianjin) Co had some satisfactory results in its efficiency and energy reduction efforts in the first two months of this year, and has responded well to the China National Chemical Corp’s work arrangements by taking steps to cut energy consumption. While its industrial output increased 1.9 percent, for the period, and industrial output value rose 1.36 percent, overall energy consumption was down 54.44 kg of oil equivalent/ton. At the same time, water, electricity and coal use were also reduced markedly, with electricity consumption falling 23.29 percent and coal consumption, 9.96 percent. Overall energy consumption was cut 32 percent and it is implementing a technology upgrade plan to further reduce energy consumption. When the upgrade is completed, efficiency will be improved even more and energy consumption reduced more.
