The Bluestar Petroleum (Jinan) Co completed its laying of pipelines for water recycling and reuse, on Dec 6, with follow-up tests showing the pumps up to standard, so the facility went into operation. The piping is there to supply recycled water to the coking tank and the circulating water system and the quality of the recycled water, after treatment, is greatly improved. The COD is basically kept at around 50, and the volatile phenol, sulfide, ammonia nitrogen and PH value of the recycled water are up to standard and the water can be used for the coking tank and the circulating water system.
Just 20 days after the piping went into operation on Dec 6, there was a stable supply of recycled water, while fresh water use in December was cut by 3,270 cubic meters compared with November’s use, for a drop of 54 percent. The waste-water discharge was cut 9,000 cu m in December, a fall of 21 percent.
Jinan’s environmental protection department personnel inspected the waste-water treatment and reuse facility on Jan 9, and said they were happy with the efficiency of the facility.
