The Shandong Huaxing Petrochemical (Group) Co has made a noise-control project at its thermal power plant the top environmental concern this year, with plans to get it up and operating by the end of January. High noise levels have been a problem for nearby residents and the noise level of the flue gas desulfurization device failed to meet standards during an environmental assessment. So, work on the project got underway. It uses the latest in noise-control techniques and advanced noise damping and insulating materials, and employs efficient noise damping screens to reduce the noise level of desulfurization devices, oxidation, pressure, and furnace blowers, and air compressors. The project design calls for reducing the noise level of the thermal power plant and making it meet noise-control standards for industries, and creating a more comfortable environment for the company.
