In the first half of 2013, Changyi Petrochemical took a number of measures to bring down its comprehensive energy consumption by 2.31 percentage points year-on-year, according to the company’s production data from Jan to June.

It has made comprehensive utilization of the low-temperature heat under 200 C to reduce steam consumption of gas separation unit, solve the heat exchanger fouling problems at atmospheric and vacuum and catalysis workshops and save the fresh water by 5000 cubic meters per hour. The company has set various gases to different pipe network systems for optimal utilization. It has raised the hydrogen output by 500-800 cubic meters per hour in the first pipe network. The secondary high-pressure pipe network can satisfy all heating furnace fuel supplies, while the tertiary network recovers all low-pressure gas.
The company has set up an energy conservation leading team and holds regular energy conservation meetings. It also arranges, deploys and summarizes energy conservation and emissions reduction work. The team will study and solve the problems of energy conservation in a timely manner. The company has also hired energy managerial personnel to help with energy conservation, supervision, statistics and analysis.
The company has improved many of its management systems, such as the “energy conservation responsibility system", "energy conservation management method", "energy conservation appraisal method", and "energy conservation rewards and punishment”. It has upgraded its tertiary energy conservation management network. The company also signed the "energy saving responsibility letter for 2013" with all workshops and teams to make sure responsibilities will be assigned to individuals.
The company has actively carried out a policy to save energy through science and technology progress. It has kept tabs on development trends of energy-conservation technology. It has taken the initiative in introducing cutting-edge energy-conservation technology in China and abroad to maximize its potential in energy conservation and emissions reduction. Since the beginning of this year, the company has introduced a number of advanced and mature technologies for energy conservation innovation after technical exchange and field research.
The company has revised its internal assessment plan based on equipment conditions. It reviews the energy consumption of various departments on a monthly basis and calculates the results into work performances and salary. It also checks the implementation of energy conservation goals, measures and innovation projects every quarter.
