Daqing Zhonglan has adjusted its inspection schedule and come up with a stricter performance evaluation and management system. It now has 374 inspection sites along 64 routes to improve safety. After its styrene, gasoline and diesel oil hydrogenation units went into production, the electronic inspection system, which had been used seven years, proved to be obsolete and some routing departmental inspections were lax. So, the company came up with a way to ferret out the weaknesses and improve management and updated the inspection system, while asking employees to pay more attention to inspections. Now, after more than three months of work, the new system is up and running and technicians, working on the front lines, have come up with an inspection list, which was reviewed by company leaders and the technical department. Every inspection will be tracked and evaluated to avoid sloppy work. The inspectors only need to tick off the relevant items on the list so inspection efficiency is improved and employees are showing more initiative.
