At the moment, Zhenghe Group’s waste gas treatment project was completed after five months of construction. It has passed inspection checks and has been put into a trial run. The project will not only solve the stench surrounding the company’s wastewater treatment zone, but also signifies that the company has finished gas treatment requirements by the Shandong government ahead of time.
It was learned that waste gas from oil refining companies was one of the culprits for the peculiar smell in the air. At present, the gas treatment has been a priority of the Shandong government in preventing air pollution. Cities and counties across the province have been asked to launch various gas treatment projects. Zhenghe has actively introduced new processes and technology to degrade pollutants into harmless carbon dioxide, water and sulfate after pretreating the gas through oil removal, temperature regulation, dedusting and humidifying. They then used microorganisms for further degradation and oxygenation. Compared with traditional methods, the project adds the oil removal process, applied pretreatment and two-phase bio-treatments to make sure there is no smell from the wastewater.
At the moment, the project is running steadily. A real-time test by Pony Testing International Group showed that the stench concentration, ammonia and hydrogen sulfide in the surrounding air were all lower than what’s permitted by standards. The operation will effectively clean up the air near the company and keep noxious gas in check.
