Changyi Petrochemical has made optimal use of its 1-million-ton continuous catalytic reforming (CCR) unit, which has been running at the world’s best, by applying ultra-low-pressure patented CCR technology and Sinopec Petroleum Processing Research Institute’s sulfolane extractive distillation technology. The catalysis was developed by Sinopec’s Fushun Petroleum and Petrochemical Research Institute and is vulcanized, with low carbon build-up and high selectivity. The catalyst regeneration uses an ultra-low-pressure, demanding CCR process and chlorine adsorption, raising the catalysis regeneration rate. The technology the unit uses is on the cutting-edge, industrially, and practical, which provides a solid foundation for future operations.
Changyi Petrochemical faced many difficulties in the project and its technical personnel made 12 technical breakthroughs and more than 25 renovations in dealing with the problems, such as unsmooth hydrogen circulation and undesirable pre-vulcanization. The technical team also formulated plans for future unit operations. The CCR unit’s advanced technology truly ensured product quality and stability and the unit can meet all the needs for gasoline quality, and a large amount of cheap hydrogen can satisfy hydrogenation unit needs, increasing the company’s economic benefits.
