Daqing Zhonglan has focused on flood prevention work for the upcoming rain season in Northeast China. It has implemented the HSE responsibility mechanism and reinforced weak links in flood control to ensure safety.
The company set up an ad hoc flood prevention leading group to ensure everything needed would be in place. It improved the flood prevention contingency plan and asked all branches to undergo drills. At the same time, the company strengthened flood prevention daily management, kept watch on the flood discharge system within its jurisdiction, and formulated an overall flood work plan. It set up a flood prevention file, drew a regional water discharge network, and clarified responsibilities.
The company has inspected all flood prevention facilities to find and deal with potential problems. It unblocked far-reaching channels and drainage ditches, and cleaned out five catchpits to ensure smooth flood discharge. It also cleaned out 1,400-meter ditches between the DCC and electric power plant, and added a DN300 valve on internal rain discharge lines. Ditches on both sides of the plant’s roads and open trenches at all sections were also cleaned to ensure surface water collection. The company’s flood control teams also enhanced the unit patrol to eliminate potential problems and increased checkpoints, with a focus on the flood prevention unit. It urged all parties to prepare enough flood prevention materials, including slush and immersible pumps, and conduct test runs on rainwater pump and the relevant automatic control system. The company also communicated with the road management department to ensure smooth road rainwater discharge.
