ChemChina Petrochemical’s e-purchase value has broken 100 million yuan ($16.27 million) as of August 28, since ChemChina pushed for the use of an e-purchase platform in June this year. The platform has helped ChemChina Petrochemical optimize purchase processes, raise efficiency, lower costs and realize transparent purchase operations.
At the moment, the company’s subsidiaries have all launched e-purchase platforms, and 52 percent of the most frequently used goods are available online. E-purchases have accounted for more than 60 percent of all sales, saving nearly 3 million yuan since the platforms were established.
The platforms streamlined former purchase processes, and all operations can be done online. Purchase plans are put in through the ERP system into the e-business purchase platform, and suppliers can offer prices online, realizing efficient and open purchase process. The whole process will be monitored by the supervision department.
In addition, the purchase platform sorted out supplier information, including cooperation history, product quality, delivery and after-sales services, and put them in different categories based on their strength and business credit. The information will help other companies in finding qualified suppliers in the future.
