At the beginning of April, Daqing Zhonglan looked for ways to control excess gas burning and was able to recover some carbon products, which saved energy. This flaring of gas is an important part of petrochemical production and it burns much of the time, wasting energy and polluting the environment and posing safety hazards. So, controls of this or stopping it altogether are important. The company drew up plans in spring for a balanced system by August during a regular overhaul. With help from the company’s CSO leaders, the storage and transportation dep’t’s finished product section used a pipe to connect the screw compressor exit to the DCC unit gas compressor 120 meters away, replacing the old pipeline that directly linked the compressor exit with the high-pressure gas system. In this way, the compressor exit gas will not directly go into high pressure gas system, but gradually enter the unit through a buffer tank for desulfurization recycling. It reduced the sulfur content, environmental pollution, and corrosion and recovered carbon 3 and 4 products. Most important, it managed to control the flaring. More than two months have passed since the changes were made and the results are that the screw compressor exit pressure dropped 0.31 MPa and electricity consumption went down 85A, with significant marked environmental improvement.
