ChemChina Logistics has followed ChemChina and ChemChina Petrochemical's requirements and asked its environmental protection, operation, tactical and production technology departments to conduct safety inspection on chemical storage tanks.
The inspection team made thorough checks on tank foundation, deck, wall, insulation layer, floating roof, liquid level detection and alarm system, combustible gas alarming equipment, emergency shut-off valve, lightning protection, field identification and fire control facilities. The inspection found that wind girder, railing, tread and insulating layers of the T201-T206 tank have suffered severe corrosion. Some breather valves were also missing.
The company leadership paid great attention to those potential problems and clarified individual responsibilities. It asked all parties to address problems immediately, formulate safety protection measures and plan for problems that can't be solved at the moment.
The inspection exposed weak links in the company's production and would play a positive role in upgrading production safety. The company will continue to launch similar checks in the future to nip accidents in the bud.
