ChemChina Logistics vigorously pushed forward logistics loss management last year and continued to improve imported raw oil unloading point management. It not only greatly shortened oil shipment demurrage days and waiting time for berth for ChemChina, but also significantly brought down the unloading cost and attrition rate. The shipment loss fell by 0.1 percent as compared with 2013, equivalent to approximately 49 million yuan ($7.83 million).
The company's port team broke down the oil shipment unloading process, strengthened supervision of the unloading process, and raised unloading quality and efficiency. Logistics personnel enhanced communications with port, shipping and cargo agencies, and confirmed port and waterway, arrival time and berth arrangement for shipments ahead of time. They also moved forward various unloading preparations and took care of port scheduling, which greatly reduced demurrage days and waiting time for berth and avoided extra costs caused by delay.
At the moment, the logistics company has successfully carried out international shipping agency business. It acts as a general agency for ChemChina's imported raw oil shipment. It will further reduce unloading costs through overall port planning and coordination and standardized shipment unloading management.
