Recently, ships and cargos have arrived at Laizhou Port in large quantities, which increased unloading pressure sharply. The logistics company completed the unloading of crude oil from 11 within 21 days. Among them, there are 8 ships berthed continuously, creating a new record for unloading of the company.
According to the overall logistics transfer arrangements, from late July to early August, 11 crude oil ships would arrive at Laizhou Port together. In order to ensure the timely berthing of the arriving ships, avoid the concentrated berthing later, and secure the stocks for oil refining enterprises, the logistics company actively communicated with the relevant departments, cooperated closely with the port personnel, and made careful staff arrangements. To overcome the small load, tank capacity constraints and other difficulties, the company negotiated with the Port to get temporary berths. They also bartered, transferred on water and made multi-port cross-delivery with oil refining companies. Through conducting formalities documents in advance and assigning special personnel to keep an eye on the ships, they ensured the unloading efficiency. They also repeatedly discussed transfer storage scheme to speed up the tank transfer. Finally, they completed the unloading of a number of ships.
In addition to the Laizhou Port, Qingdao Port and Dalian Port were also under the same great pressure. With fierce warehousing and berths resource competition, demurrage control difficulty was doubled. In order to secure the stable production and higher safety stock of oil refining enterprises all the time, ChemChina Logistics spared no effort to coordinate and regulate by making full use of storage resources and effective use of “separate unloading and berthing”, which achieved remarkable results. In the first half of this year, the average unloading time of ChemChina’s foreign trade ships was shortened by 4.4 days compared with those of Qingdao.
